Nedbank recognised for innovation excellence by The Digital Banker Awards

Johannesburg - The Nedbank Business Hub (NBH) is an innovative digital platform designed by the bank to deliver a seamless, convenient and client-centred solution that empowers business clients of the bank to simplify their banking and access solutions to meet their unique business needs.

The Nedbank Business Hub is part of Nedbank’s digital transformation journey and provides a step change for Nedbank’s business and corporate banking clients providing self service capabilities for onboarding, servicing and access to the transactional channels. The Nedbank Business Hub adds value to their business banking experience, by empowering them to take greater control of their transactional banking and service needs in a secure, user-friendly environment. 

Now, the innovative thinking that gave rise to the Nedbank Business Hub has been formally recognised by the international banking community. The NBH took top honours in The Digital Banker Middle East and Africa (MEA) Innovation Awards, 2022 in the  category: ‘Outstanding Digital Transformation by a Transaction/Wholesale Bank in Covid-19’  

According to Ian Carter, Divisional Executive of CIB Transaction Services: Electronic Banking, Payments and Enablement, said the award from The Digital Banker validates the bank’s commitment to fully understand and anticipate the complex, and ever-changing needs of its business clients, and respond in innovative ways that enhance business value. 

“The rapid reshaping of the business world by Covid-19 has fundamentally changed the way businesses operate, and continues to reshape their banking needs and expectations,” Carter says, “and for Nedbank, the only appropriate response to this shifting landscape is to stay attuned to our clients’ requirements around immediacy, human interaction, reduced admin and complexity, and enhanced convenience and security; and then leverage our agility and innovation to fully deliver on those requirements.” 

Carter explains that the Nedbank Business Hub is the tangible demonstration of this delivery commitment. “The Hub is a true one-stop-shop digital solution that, delivers real and meaningful client-centricity, and significantly improves our business client service levels. We’re extremely pleased that the global banking community has recognised it as such.””

Announcing the award, The Digital Banker praised the Nedbank Business Hub platform as being “a testament to the efforts your [Nedbank’s] teams are driving to meet customer demands, accelerate payments innovation and prepare for the digital decade ahead.”
